Duration: 4'
The Seventh Angel for brass ensemble is an adaptation of the composer's The Seven Angels, originally written for organ.
This version was performed by the YST Brass Ensemble, led by conductor Lien Boon Hua on 'YST Big Brass' (20 Oct 2023) at the Yong Siew Toh Conservatory Concert Hall. It was performed by the same performers a few days later at the Performers(‘) Present 2023: International Artistic Research Symposium on 25 October 2023 at the YST Foyer.
"The Seventh Angel is inspired by The Angel and the Little Scroll, Chapter 10 from the Book of Revelation. The text describes a
mighty angel with a small scroll, the mystery of the seven thunders’ message, and John’s symbolic act of consuming the scroll,
symbolizing the sweetness of God’s word mixed with the bitterness of prophesied judgments." - Notes by Chan Chen
